About the Creator

Scott Presler, known online as "ThePersistence," is a conservative activist and influencer in U.S. politics who frequently posts on X about crime, immigration, and election-related issues. His style is emphatic, partisan, and designed to mobilize right-leaning audiences rather than provide neutral reporting, so his posts should be read as political commentary rather than objective news.

What's This About?

This post comments on the fatal shooting of **Renee Nicole Good**, a 37-year-old woman killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis after an encounter in which authorities say she used her vehicle in a threatening manner against law enforcement.[4][6] The tweet asserts that Good "attempted to drive over a police officer" and characterizes her actions as "attempted murder," aligning with federal officials like DHS Secretary Kristi Noem who have said she weaponized her vehicle and tried to run over an officer.[1][4] Bystander and officer-shot videos show Good in an SUV as ICE agents approach, order her to exit, and then fire as the vehicle moves forward; it remains contested in public debate whether she was attempting to flee or to strike officers, and whether the shooting was justified.[1][3][4] The content fits into broader disputes over law enforcement use of force, immigration enforcement operations, and how viral video clips are framed in partisan narratives.[1][2][4]

🔥Why It's Trending

The post is trending because newly circulated cellphone and officer-shot videos, amplified by high-profile figures including Vice President JD Vance, have reignited national debate over whether the ICE officer acted in self-defense when shooting Renee Good.[2][3][4] The incident intersects with heated U.S. discussions about federal immigration enforcement, police accountability, and political framing of violent encounters, making any strong, declarative commentary—like calling it “attempted murder”—highly shareable and polarizing.

💡Fun Facts

  • 1Renee Nicole Good was a 37-year-old U.S. citizen killed during an ICE enforcement operation on a Minneapolis residential street, not at a border crossing or detention facility.[5][6]
  • 2ABC News obtained video believed to be recorded by the ICE agent who fired the shots, capturing Good saying, "I'm not mad at you" shortly before the encounter escalated.[1][3]
  • 3DHS Secretary Kristi Noem publicly framed Good’s actions as an attempt to kill or seriously harm an officer and even described it as an "act of domestic terrorism," language that local officials and protesters strongly disputed.[1][4]
  • 4Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called the self-defense narrative "garbage" after reviewing bystander video, illustrating the sharp divide between federal and local interpretations of the same footage.[1][4]
  • 5Legal analysts and advocacy groups are already examining whether Good’s family can sue ICE and the federal government over the shooting, highlighting how such incidents often move quickly from street encounter to complex civil litigation.[5]

NEW: Cole Allen spewed anti-Christian and anti-Trump rhetoric on his social media accounts, said he wanted to target the Trump admin in his manifesto, according to CBS News. According to Allen’s sister, he sent the manifesto to his family before the incident. Allen had also attended a No Kings rally in California and was a part of the group named 'The Wide Awakes,' per Fox News. Allen fired a total of 5 to 8 shots during the incident. He was not struck. He traveled by train from Los Angeles to Chicago, then from Chicago to Washington, D.C. According to a senior U.S. official, one of his family members notified police about his manifesto. Allen did *not* mention the White House Correspondents' Dinner in the manifesto. The writings were reportedly written on paper and found in his hotel room.

NEWS: new info on the WHCD shooting suspect, Cole Allen, from the White House. I'll be talking with President Trump about all of this in 30 minutes on @SundayBriefFNC The suspect’s written manifesto clearly stated he wanted to target administration officials. He also had a ton of anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric on his social media accounts. ALLEN's brother had notified New London PD (CT) of ALLEN's alleged manifesto he had sent to his family members prior to the incident.   Secret Service and Montgomery County Police interviewed Avriana Allen, ALLEN’s sister, at their residence in Rockville, MD. The following highlights from the interview: •Allen said her brother had a tendency to make radical statements and his rhetoric constantly referenced a plan to do “something” to fix the issues with today’s world. •Confirmed ALLEN purchased two handguns and a shotgun from Cap Tactical Firearms and kept them stored at their parent’s home and that their parents were unaware that ALLEN was keeping the firearms in the home. •ALLEN would regularly go to the shooting range to train with his firearms •ALLEN was part of a group called ‘The Wide Awakes’ •ALLEN attended a ‘No Kings’ protest in California at some point
